vVyom Festive: The Inspiration Behind the Story

I have always loved the idea of a home dressing up for a celebration. Not by changing everything, but by bringing out the colours, fabrics and objects that we don’t necessarily use every day. A beautiful quilt, embroidered cushions, a polished brass thali or an old favourite brought back to the table. For me, vVyom festive decorating is about enjoying these little details and allowing them to come together naturally.

This thought became the starting point for our vVyom Festive Collection 2026, The Palace Stables. I wanted to revisit the decorative world of Indian palaces, particularly the horses, gardens, textiles and ceremonial details that were once part of royal life. The horse became our central motif, appearing on embroidered velvet cushions, surrounded by palms, foliage and patterns inspired by palace interiors.

The colours followed this story. Saffron gold, smoked quartz, deep mulberry and jade bring richness, while mauve, lavender, powder blue, peach and magnolia offer softer combinations. I have always enjoyed mixing colours that are not obvious companions. A mulberry cushion against a lighter quilt, a botanical print beside a geometric pattern, or a little ikat to make a more elaborate setting feel relaxed.

Our Bageecha and Naksh quilts, Naksh dohars, Palace Grid and Heritage bedcovers are designed with this freedom in mind. I don’t believe everything on a bed needs to match. Sometimes the most interesting combinations happen when different prints, textures and colours are allowed to sit together.

The dining table follows a similar approach. Brass thalis, bowls and tumblers sit alongside illustrated horses, striped jars, patterned bottles and pomegranate-shaped platters. Ikat runners, napkins and rattan details bring a familiar, informal quality to vVyom festive entertaining.

This year is particularly special because we also opened our first Delhi flagship on Chhatarpur 100 Feet Road. After years of meeting our customers online, I wanted them to experience vVyom in person. The 1,000 sq. ft. store brings together jewel-coloured interiors, arches, jharokha-inspired details and complete bedscapes. We have also introduced vVyom Bespoke for customised textiles.

Coming from a family with a textile history dating to 1884, I have always felt that fabrics should be enjoyed, used and passed on. With The Palace Stables, I wanted to create something festive enough for a celebration, yet comfortable enough to remain part of the home long after the guests have left.
