Designer Masaba Gupta debuts at Hyundai India Couture Week 2026 with its first-ever bridal couture collection

“I want the world to feel the India I grew up in – loud, lush, unapologetically itself. And the feeling of ‘Still I Rise’.” — Masaba Gupta

After six years, House of Masaba returns to the runway with its first-ever bridal showcase – a collection rooted in heritage, drenched in colour, and liberated by joy.

More than a bridal debut, it marks the beginning of a new chapter for the brand, reimagining what bridal can look and feel like, through the unmistakable lens of Masaba.

At its heart, this collection is an expression of eternal optimism. It celebrates women as the carriers of culture – where every bride takes a piece of India with her, wherever she goes. It captures the evolution of House of Masaba’s visual language while introducing its most expansive expression yet: bridal.

House of Masaba has always celebrated India through an irreverent visual language – bold prints inspired by our culture, everyday nostalgia, folklore, pop references, and the joyful chaos of Indian life. A language that was proudly Indian and unapologetically original.

Today, that same language enters its grandest chapter.

The motifs that once redefined contemporary Indian fashion now become the identity of a new generation of brides. Not brides bound by convention, but women who are fearless, expressive, joyful and entirely themselves. The story unfolds through colour – not simply to represent India, but to release its spirit in full bloom.

This show expands the idea of India itself. Because India, in the end, is not merely a place. It is a feeling. A way of seeing the world. A confidence. A memory. A celebration. And feelings, like fashion, know no borders.

The journey begins in the sacred landscapes of India before drifting into the blue-green waters of Antigua and the vibrant tropics of the Caribbean. Bridal seamlessly transforms into resort bridal. Ceremony gives way to celebration. Tradition softens into freedom.

It is designed for the woman who has arrived – confident in who she is, deeply rooted in where she comes from, and carrying those roots with her across the world.

This is more than House of Masaba’s bridal debut.

It is the evolution of a brand that has always redefined Indian fashion on its own terms, where heritage meets modernity, where motifs become legacy, where bridal becomes a celebration of identity. And where India is worn not as a destination, but as a state of mind.

“I’m very excited to bring on Indriya as the jewellery partner for my first couture show. I think that the brand is at the perfect cusp of tradition and modernity. I have seen some of the pieces and instantly feel like they will belong not just on the runway but also in our wardrobes and as part of our personal collections.

The jewellery is exquisitely crafted and has a lot of storytelling, and I think that the brand is very loud and proudly Indian, which I love and which is what House of Masaba stands for. It is also a brand that has been able to ignite a lot of trust within the market because it comes from the Aditya Birla Group, and I think when it comes to fine jewellery and bridal jewellery, it’s very important to have that trust, and I think that they do that beautifully, says designer Masaba Gupta.

Speaking about the jewellery curation, Mr Abhishek Rastogi, Head of Design at Indriya, said, “For House of Masaba’s showcase at India Couture Week, Indriya brought together a curation that celebrates the breadth and richness of Indian jewellery craftsmanship. Styled with contemporary couture, the collection reaffirms that India’s finest jewellery traditions are not simply preserved; they continue to evolve, proving that heritage remains an enduring source of inspiration for modern design.”
